About

"Inspired by Global Mending Day, this workshop explores creative ways to repair and extend the life of your clothing."
Learn how to extend the life of your clothing using simple hand-stitching techniques such as appliqué, embroidery, and sashiko-inspired repairs. This hands-on workshop introduces creative ways to mend worn, torn, or damaged garments while adding personality and meaning to the pieces you love.

Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to refresh forgotten sewing skills, this workshop will help you build confidence in practical repair techniques and explore a more sustainable approach to fashion through visible mending.

What you'll learn:
Basic hand-sewing techniques for clothing repair
Visible mending methods including appliqué, embroidery, and sashiko
Creative ways to personalise and transform garments
How mending can reduce textile waste and support slow fashion

All materials and tools are provided for use during the workshop. Morning tea will be provided.

Optional: Bring along a garment or textile item you'd like to work on and receive guidance on repair options. If you don't have a specific item to mend, there will be plenty of opportunities to practise techniques, learn new skills, and be inspired by the possibilities of visible mending.

Join us to acknowledge Global Mending Day, connect with others, and celebrate the value of repairing, reusing, and caring for the things we already own.
