Following a triumphant debut in 2026, Joshua Batten returns to The Door Gallery Cafe on November 21st in support of his new album ’True Optimism’, accompanied by his band featuring featuring bassist Terry McLeod, drummer Jeremy Li and keyboardist Allan Venn.
Hailing from Melbourne, Joshua Batten is a genuine musical storyteller, blending elements of Folk, Country, Blues and Rock with insightful and relatable lyrics. Based on his experiences living with neurodiversity, he turns his personal introspective moments into powerful, universal anthems. A seasoned live performer, Joshua puts his heart and soul into his shows, which have resonated with audiences and garnered him a dedicated following, with extensive appearances at blues and folk festivals across Australia.
