About

Two-Day Interactive Course for Functional Healthcare Practitioners

The mouth is not an isolated structure—it is a reflection of the entire human system.

For decades, dentistry has focused primarily on teeth, bites and mechanics. Yet many of the conditions we manage every day—including airway disorders, malocclusion, tongue ties, temporomandibular dysfunction, sleep-disordered breathing, craniofacial growth disturbances and orofacial myofunctional disorders—cannot be fully understood by looking at the mouth alone.

This course introduces REASONSS, a comprehensive clinical framework that redefines assessment and treatment through a whole-body lens. Rather than asking “What is wrong with the teeth?”, REASONSS asks “Why has this patient adapted this way?”

Across two intensive days, participants will learn how the nervous system, fascia, breathing, sleep, nutrition, craniofacial development, muscle function and structural stability interact to influence oral health and long-term treatment outcomes.

The REASONSS framework provides clinicians with a logical, evidence-informed sequence for evaluating dysfunction, prioritising treatment, collaborating across disciplines and delivering more predictable, patient-centred care.

The REASONSS framework examines eight interconnected domains:

R – Regulation & Reflexes
E – Elasticity & Environment
A – Airway & Breathing
S – Sleep & Nutrition
O – Orofacial Function
N – Neuromuscular Function
S – Structure
S – Stability

Who Should Attend?

Designed for dentists, medical doctors, orthodontists, oral health therapists, dental hygienists, myofunctional therapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, ENTs, lactation consultants and other healthcare professionals passionate about collaborative, functional patient care.

What You Will Learn

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

* Understand why oral dysfunction is rarely an isolated problem.
* Apply the REASONSS framework to clinical assessment and treatment planning.
* Recognise how nervous system regulation influences patient readiness and outcomes.
* Connect breathing, sleep, nutrition and environmental factors with craniofacial development.
* Assess oral function beyond the tongue and teeth.
* Appreciate the relationship between fascia, neuromuscular control and structural adaptation.
* Develop logical treatment sequencing that respects the body’s capacity to adapt.
* Collaborate more effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
* Deliver more predictable, stable and long-lasting clinical outcomes.

Course Philosophy

REASONSS is more than an acronym—it is a clinical philosophy.

It challenges clinicians to move beyond symptom-based dentistry and embrace a systems-based approach that seeks the underlying reasons behind dysfunction before pursuing solutions.

Because when we understand the reasons, treatment becomes clearer, collaboration becomes stronger, and outcomes become more stable.

The mouth never works alone. Neither should we.

* This event is fully catered each day with morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
