Illuminate In-House Comp

This year, our Extension+ Accredited Course students are putting their learning into action as they take on the exciting challenge of planning and delivering Flash Dance Performing Arts’ very first In-House Dance Competition! As part of their studies, the girls will gain valuable hands-on experience in event planning, production, communication, organisation and working within the performing arts industry — while creating an exciting new event for the entire Flash Dance community to enjoy. The competition will give our dancers the opportunity to take to the stage, compete against their peers in a fun and supportive environment, and receive professional, constructive feedback from an experienced adjudicator. With plenty of performances, excitement, encouragement and entertainment, it promises to be a fantastic day out for dancers, families and friends alike. We can’t wait to see our Extension+ students bring this project to life and establish what we hope will become an exciting new annual event on the FDPA calendar!

Solo's / Duos & Trios / Groups of 4 or more people

Jazz (Broadway & Commercial), Hip Hop, Tap, Classical & Neo, Lyrical & Contemporary, Song & Dance / Tap

Students can enter as many times as they like but must present different routines. 

Limited places available so first in best dressed

Competitors must declare if their routine is professionally choreographed (by a FDPA Teacher) or student choreographed (either by themself or a peer) at the time of entry

Entry fees must be paid at the time of entry

Solos / Duos / Trios - 3 minute time limit

Groups - 4 minute time limit

Program will be coordinated and emailed out the week leading up to the competition. 

The committee reserves the rights to combine any age groups or styles they see fit to cater for entry numbers

Costumes are encouraged but not compulsory

Entrants will recieve follow up emails after entry has been received with our code of conduct and more information regarding the performance space, event details and instructions regarding music uploads.
