About

The Australian Short Story Festival celebrates the subtle and exciting art and craft of the short story form. This year's festival will be held at Victoria Hall and the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle from 27th to 29th of November 2026, and will include workshops, panel discussions, author interviews, live music and readings. The weekend wraps up with a fun literary debate, in which teams combine reason and passion with a few civilised insults for good measure! It’s three days of thought-provoking and lively entertainment featuring some of our finest Australian story tellers. Writers include Lucy Nelson, Alex Cothren, Eugen Bacon, Gillian O'Shaughnessy, Jon Doust, Susan Midalia, Holden Sheppard, Rashida Murphy, Karleah Olsen and more.
