About

Before becoming cyborg, Dianna was ordinary and invisible. Her superfund is empty, she’s broke and she has body parts which need replacing. When offered an extraordinary opportunity; become cyborg, work for The Machine and make huge amounts of money, Dianna Dynamic grabs it with both hands. All she has to do is recruit people to become cyborgs. She does and becomes extraordinary; smashing targets like plates, getting to live the life she always dreamed of. When she inadvertently overhears The Machine scheduling her termination because she’s not the latest prototype, her dreams turn to dust. While waiting at the scrapheap to be recycled into solar panels, Dianna decides; it’s time to give humanity another go. Outwardly, this show questions the seemingly limitless capacity of AI and the dangers of the world’s urgent willingness to embrace it. Below the surface, this show is an unravelling of a woman, as she breaks free of society’s expectations and her self imposed oppression.
Dianna Dynamic, directed by Australian 4 time gold logie winner, Lisa McCune, received a 4/5 star review at the 2023 Melbourne Fringe Festival. Reviewer Carla Di Maggio described the production as "a triumph."
