About

Nathan Beretta and Lazy Eye — Live at the Murray Delta Juke Joint

Two award-winning, chart-topping and well-respected blues acts are teaming up for one hell of a special show — a Sunday afternoon of soulful, authentic blues in one of the most atmospheric rooms in South Australia.

About Nathan Beretta

Regarded as one of Australia's top blues guitar slingers, NSW-based Nathan Beretta brings fifteen years of festival stages, bars and clubs to every performance. He first rose to prominence with the multi-award-winning band Blue Eyes Cry, signed to Black Market Music, whose debut album held the top of the Australian Blues & Roots Charts for four months and won him Best New Talent at the Chain Awards. As a solo artist he has released two albums, both reaching No.1 on the Australian Blues & Roots Charts, and in 2024 he won the Sydney Blues Challenge before representing Australia at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.

Raised in a household full of blues, jazz and soul, and influenced by the likes of Ronnie Earl, Albert Collins, Albert King and Buddy Guy, Nathan plays with an 'all killer, no filler' philosophy — searing Fender guitar tones, powerhouse vocals and a traditional feel that has earned him the respect of blues lovers across the country. He has shared stages with Geoff Achison, Lloyd Spiegel, Ray Beadle and more, and performed at virtually every major blues festival in Australia.

About Lazy Eye

Lazy Eye need little introduction to South Australian blues fans and music lovers. Two-time Australian Group of the Year at the Australian Blues Awards, Lazy Eye were the first band to represent South Australia at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, capping the trip with a performance at the legendary B.B. King's Blues Club on Beale Street. Built around the roar of a well-travelled Hammond B3 organ, with soulful guitar, harmonica and a deep-pocket groove, their sound has been described as B.B. King sharing a scotch with Booker T at the crossroads after midnight.

The Venue

The Murray Delta Juke Joint in Goolwa is arguably the closest you'll get to an authentic juke joint experience outside of the USA — intimate, atmospheric and made for the blues. With two Memphis-tested acts on the one bill, this promises to be an afternoon of sweet soul, gutbucket blues and serious groove.
