Monster Madness! All Ages Pottery Class

Get ready to create your own weird and wonderful clay monster!

In this special Monster Madness class, local artist and ceramicist Nina Denning will guide you through designing a monster completely from your imagination. Will yours be tiny and grumpy, enormous and cheerful, covered in scales, spots or warts? Maybe it needs three eyes, six legs, giant ears, horns, wings, a tail... or something nobody has thought of yet.

We’ll explore shape, size, expression, texture, colour and all the strange little details that give a creature its personality. There is no ‘right’ kind of monster, so you can make yours as cute, creepy, ridiculous or fantastical as you like.

This is a relaxed all ages and abilities class for people aged 8+, where we encourage families, friends and children to share the fun of clay together. No pottery experience is needed.

The class runs for 1.5 hours and includes up to half a kilo of clay per participant. Nina will demonstrate simple hand-building techniques and help you bring your monster to life.

Coloured underglazes are provided so you can decorate your creation during the class. We will then clear glaze and fire your monster here at the studio, ready for collection approximately 4 weeks after the class.

Suitable for ages 8+. Children and adults are equally welcome.
