About
Join us for a welcoming and supportive art sessions designed for people living with dementia and their carers!
About the sessions
Through colour, texture and other sensory experiences, art and creativity offer opportunities for connection, wellbeing and self-expression. Creative activities can provide another way to communicate, express feelings and share experiences, particularly when dementia changes how we express ourselves through words.
There is no right or wrong way to create, and no expectation to produce a particular artwork or achieve a specific outcome. Simply enjoy the process, explore your creativity and participate at your own pace in a relaxed, supportive environment.
For carers
Carers are warmly invited to join in with the art-making or, if you prefer, take some time for yourself with a cuppa and a chat with other carers.
Everyone is welcome
- All cognitive abilities are welcome.
- No art experience is needed.
- All materials are provided — just come as you are.
About the facilitator
Sessions are facilitated by Kimberly Howeler from Found Objects Creative Therapies, a qualified Art Therapist and Mental Health Clinician. Kimberly will support participants to explore creativity in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
