Delivered by Yellow Dove Australia, the project provides culturally inclusive opportunities for people from migrant and refugee backgrounds to access swimming, water safety education, First Aid and CPR training, and nationally recognised aquatic qualifications.
The program aims to reduce barriers to participation by creating safe, supportive and accessible learning environments while building practical skills that can be transferred into volunteering, employment and leadership opportunities within the aquatic industry.
Key outcomes include:
Supporting multicultural participants to develop swimming and water safety skills.
Increasing knowledge of drowning prevention and aquatic risk.
Delivering First Aid and CPR education and qualifications.
Creating pathways into aquatic training, volunteering and employment.
Building confidence and connection within Queensland's diverse communities.
Promoting long-term participation in safe aquatic recreation.
Through practical sessions, community engagement and skills-based training, MultiSwim Queensland aims to ensure that more people have the knowledge, confidence and opportunity to safely enjoy Queensland's waterways and aquatic environments.
