A Workshop with Misty Adoniou

Join Misty Adoniou to discover an integrated approach to teaching quality writing using quality literature, based on her belief that students write best when they read widely and well. You will explore how to teach complex vocabulary and sophisticated grammatical structures in context, helping EAL/D learners make deliberate language choices in their own writing. The workshop begins with writing samples and mentor texts to identify features of effective writing and the language skills that can be taught through different texts, including works by Indigenous and other Australian authors. Misty will then share practical strategies suitable for learners of all ages (primary, post-primary and adults) and across all English proficiency levels.
