Step Into the Living World of Minibeasts!

As the tulips burst into colour, our gardens come alive with minibeasts!
Get ready to discover the fascinating world of minibeasts with Travel Bugs Mobile Minibeasts.
This fun, safe and educational hands-on, interactive workshop inspires curiosity and brings the living world to life. Children will explore the amazing creatures that live all around us and discover the important roles they play in our environment.
🌿 What Will You Discover?
During this engaging workshop, children will explore the incredible world of minibeasts and learn about their importance in our Living World, including:
- 🌿 Ecosystems and food webs
- 🐛 Life cycles and reproduction
- 🌾 Agriculture and forestry
- 🌏 Environmental importance
- 🔬 Science and medicine
🪲 Meet Our Live Minibeasts!
A highlight of the workshop is the opportunity to get up close to a fantastic variety of harmless live minibeasts.
Participants may meet and learn about:
- Australian stick insects
- Cockroaches
- Praying mantises
- Grasshoppers
- Beetles
- Millipedes
- Snails
- And many other fascinating minibeasts!
Children will have the opportunity for supervised, hands-on handling of selected harmless minibeasts, creating an exciting and memorable learning experience.
🔍 Explore Over 200 Biofacts
The workshop also features an incredible collection of more than 200 preserved biofacts, giving children the chance to examine minibeasts and their amazing adaptations up close.
The collection includes:
- Embedded and dried insects
- Snail shells
- Eggs and egg cases
- Exoskeletons
- Wings
- Cocoons
- And many other fascinating specimens

Travel Bugs Mobile Minibeasts combines real-life encounters, hands-on learning and engaging educational activities to help children develop a greater understanding and appreciation of the tiny creatures that play such an important role in our Living World.

Tickets are required for all participating children. No refunds will be given for this event.
Please note: At least one family member must be a library member to attend this event. Please provide the library membership number when purchasing your ticket.
