The guidance grows every year and in NSW compliance is now law. Since September 2025 every registered practitioner has a legal duty to meet infection control standards, and every practice has a legal duty to make that possible. This course takes what is required today and provides clear direction teams can act on tomorrow.
A practitioner today is expected to be the resident expert and supervisor for infection control while singlehandedly treating patients all day, watching cash flow, hiring new team members, preparing for accreditation and staying ready for a Dental Council audit at any time. Practice teams know they need to manage infection risk. What they are short of is time and headspace, and clear leadership on what they need to do, today.

Kylie Robb has spent eleven years, a pandemic, 300 infection control courses and more than 500 onsite reviews working out how infection prevention actually works in a dental practice. She is the director of Niche Dental, teaches at the University of Sydney and is a Fellow and past Director of the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control.
