About
Long before he stood at the despatch box as Australia's Treasurer, Josh Frydenberg's story began with his family's journey from war-torn Europe to build a new life in Melbourne.
Josh revisits that story in his memoir, A Grateful Son, written with Gideon Haigh. Across twelve years in Federal Parliament as the Member for Kooyong, Josh held senior portfolios under three Prime Ministers and served as Treasurer through the most severe economic crisis Australia has faced in a century. But A Grateful Son is, at its heart, a more personal reflection on family, faith, community and the opportunities this country gave his family.
Join us for an intimate morning to mark his book's national launch. This is a chance to hear, first-hand, about the family values and Jewish identity that shaped a career at the highest levels of Australian public life.
Josh will be in conversation with Gideon Kline, President of the Jewish Museum of Australia: Gandel Centre of Judaica. Copies of A Grateful Son will be available for purchase and a book signing will take place from 7:30am. The conversation will begin at 8am sharp with light refreshments available. Tickets are free, registration is essential.
