Evidence in Action: lessons from evaluation and behavioural insights

Hosted by the Australian Centre for Evaluation (ACE) and the Behavioural Economics Team of the Australian Government (BETA), this event will bring together senior leaders, policymakers, practitioners and researchers to explore how evaluation and behavioural insights can contribute to better public policy.
The event will showcase practical lessons from across government alongside Australian and international perspectives on using evidence to inform policy design, implementation and decision-making.
Indicative program:
- Opening remarks: The Hon Patrick Gorman MP, Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister, Assistant Minister for the Public Service, and Assistant Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations.
- Keynote address: Professor Dean Karlan , Frederic Esser Nemmers Distinguished Professor of Economics and Finance at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
- Evidence in Action - Senior leaders panel: Dr Steven Kennedy PSM, Jenny Wilkinson PSM and Angelia Grant, Deputy Secretary, Australian Treasury
- Keynote address: Speaker to be confirmed
- Closing remarks: The Hon Dr Andrew Leigh MP, Assistant Minister for Productivity, Competition, Charities and Treasury
