About
A series of 5 workshops designed to be taken as a course or stand-alone. A female-led movement and dance reset for women in medical field, with a focus on grounding, release, and reconnection and an emphasis on safety, permission, and self-awareness.
The ultimate goal? To foster the self acceptance and confidence to allow participants to step into their own leadership style.
The workshops:
Pillars
1. Grounding and nervous system reset
a. Breathwork to transition out of “work mode”
b. Awareness of body and sensations
2. Gentle guided movement inspired by somatic practices and Ecstatic Dance
a. Flow based movement with repetitive, easy-to-follow sequences
b. Low impact and accessible for all energy levels
3. Confidence through Expression
a. Prompts to encourage exploration (“take up space”)
b. Confidence built through permission, not technique
4. Connection and community
a. Low pressure sharing/reflective moments
b. Focus on human connection outside professional roles
5. Closed with exercises for emotional and physical grounding
There will be a short and easy dance routine taught in each workshop. No prior experience in dance is required, and routines can be done in heels, sneakers, or barefoot.
Please note: These workshops are fully funded by the Su Winter Scholarship, from the Department of Intensive Care Medicine at Alfred Health. There will be a brief questionnaire before and after each workshop to evaluate the efficacy and to examine any areas of improvement. This data will be compiled and presented as part of a research project.
