THE BIRDCAGE COMES TO THE RAVEN
8 syndicates of 10 people each
Be part of the winning syndicate at the end of the night!

Get out your fascinators, dust off your suits & hats and get ready for an evening of good old fashioned fun. The Glen Iris Cricket Club ‘Night at the Races' will test your group's ability to pick a winner when it comes to horse racing. Will you be in the winning syndicate at the end of the race card?

As the race goers enter the venue, they will be met by the bookie in the betting ring.  All delegates will receive $2,500 and a form guide. A briefing for the race day will then be delivered by the Chief Steward.  Throughout the race meeting, there will be a full card of races run, with maidens, group ones, fillies and other specialty breeds racing to pass the finishing post in first place.

Race goers will be given a period of time between each race to study the guide, compare the options and place a winning bet with the bookies. With bets such as win, place, each-way, trifecta, quinella, exacta, quadrella and daily double being accepted, there will be no shortage of options for the die-hard punter or the novice race goer.

Punters will receive their betting stub and then move trackside ready for the race. A large screen will telecast all races allowing the punters to see the action. With real horses, real callers and real jockeys battling it out, this will be as close to the real thing as you can get. After each race, the bookies will pay out the winning punters and move on to the next race.

Towards the end of the race night, the punters ideally will have pockets full of cash. The final race on the card will be a famous syndicate race named The Glen Iris Cup. The horses will be paraded for all to admire. It will then be an old-fashioned Calcutta as the syndicates buy, through auction, the horse of their choice. The race to end all races will be run, with teams either ending up in the gutter or in the corporate marquee!

GIDDY UP!
