About
C.A.T. stands for Catalysis, symbolising the idea that singing can act as a catalyst that connects us - bringing people together through music, fostering growth, and inspiring us to explore the possibilities of the future.
Founded in October 2025, Melbourne C.A.T. Choir Inc is a Chinese-language community choir primarily made up of members from the post-1980s and post-1990s generations. We aspire to create a contemporary choral experience that resonates with the lives and emotional experiences of Chinese-speaking communities today. Through music, we hope to evoke shared memories of an era, capture the journey of growing up, and honour the youthful years that are gradually becoming part of the past.
Here, singing together is more than a musical performance; it is a way of connecting people. We hope every member can find a sense of belonging through song, rediscover a part of themselves in the melodies, and create new stories alongside like-minded companions.
May our voices become a bridge - bringing people together, turning encounters into connections, and allowing our shared love of music to continue.
