Kids Kinusaiga Activity - School Holidays Week 2

Join us in the second week of this Spring school holidays for Kids Kinusaiga. This is a Japanese art form that uses fabric scraps to make a quilt-like picture without any stitching. It's as simple as sticking fabric onto foam using an adhesive layer and then pushing it down into the gaps.
You will choose a design from our pre-prepared 10x10cm foam bases. These will already have the adhesive layer attached and the design cut for you, so all the kids will need to do is choose their favourite fabrics, stick them on to their desired area and poke them in with a non-sharp implement. Edges can be finished with ribbon.
This is a self-directed activity rather than a class. Just drop in during the hours that are listed on the day that you choose to book into, you don't need to stay for the whole time. Depending on your child's attention and fine motor skills we expect the activity will take most kids 30-60 minutes. Our staff will show you & your child how to do the activity, but won't be in the room the whole time. We will be available if you get stuck or have any questions though.
We recommend this activity for ages 5+, but younger kids can still complete it with your help. Adults are welcome to make a mini kinusaiga piece as well, but will need to book their own ticket for the activity. There is a discounted price for groups of 3.
You are welcome to grab food or drinks from our arcade neighbours or other nearby food businesses and bringing them into the workshop space, or you can bring these from home.
Price = $10 each (includes 1 artwork)
OR 3 tickets for $25 (includes 3 artworks, can be used for one person or multiple people)
These crafts involve a bit more prep work for us, so booking ahead will ensure that we have enough materials prepped. There will be some extras for those without bookings, but to guarantee your spot, please book ahead.
If you have a $5 craft multi-pass these can still be used for this session, we will just tick off 2 of your $5 sessions. Please message us or come in store to book with your multi-pass.
There are no refunds available for this activity. If you can't come on the day you have booked, please email us to organise to come on another day or you can pick up the materials for the activity to take home to complete.
