The Planets is an epic, seven-movement work that has thrilled and enraptured audiences for more than 100 years and is based on the composer's impressions of the 'personalities' of the planets. From the pounding aggression of Mars, to the romantic lyricism of Venus and the jovial buoyancy of Jupiter, The Planets spans an astonishing range of moods and orchestral colours.
