Emergent Futures: Machine Intelligence with Rita Arrigo
When Intelligence Precedes Wisdom
Wednesday 28 October, 6.00pm
The Kelvin ClubJoin us for the first in a new series of intimate evening conversations on how science and technology are colliding with culture, ethics, economics and human enterprise.
Emergent Futures brings that collision into the room: artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, biotechnology, robotics and advanced computing. Not as a briefing. As a conversation about what these technologies are doing to work, culture, money and the decisions we still get to make.
Our first evening explores machine intelligence with Rita Arrigo.
For more than three decades, Rita has worked at the practical edge of technological change, from Australia's first internet café to the National AI Centre, where she established the Responsible AI Network and connected industry with research. She has advised at Microsoft and now leads AI Native Futures, helping leaders move from experimenting with generative and agentic systems to governing them. Rita is a TEDxMelbourne speaker and a Women in AI Award winner.
Chris Cormack will host the conversation with Rita, initially one to one, and then open to the floor.
The opening conversation may be recorded for a future podcast. Once the discussion opens to the room, it continues off the record, in the spirit of the Chatham House Rule.
Bring a question from your own work, profession or field. Or simply bring your curiosity.
