Karen Young - The Relationship Advantage - An evening for parents, carers, and educators for Mental Health Week

The most powerful influence in a young person’s life isn’t a technique or a perfectly timed response – it’s the quality of the relationships around them. We’ll explore how to build and strengthen your relationships with the young people in your lives in ways that maximise connection, trust, and influence. We’ll discuss:

- practical ways to strengthen relationships;
- how to respond to big feelings with confidence;
- boundaries that build trust and connection;
- what young people need from the adults in their lives;
- everyday strategies that help young people feel safe, capable and understood;
- ways to maximise their willingness to talk;
- the practices that can deepen our connection, their willingness to talk, and our capacity to keep them safe and guide them even when we aren’t there.
