I’ve seen first-hand how important community, connection and having a safe space to simply LET GO can be. Every week, my dance classes bring together mostly local women who spend so much of their lives carrying everything on their backs — work, families, responsibilities and the needs of the people around them. For many of us, that hour of dancing is our chance to put it all down, breathe, laugh, move and reconnect with ourselves.
That’s part of why we are hosting One Big Move for Lifeline this World Mental Health Day.
For us, community isn’t just a word: it’s women showing up for each other, friendships that have grown through dance, familiar faces who know when you need a smile, and a room where you can walk in carrying the weight of the week and leave feeling lighter.
This Saturday 10 October, we’re opening our doors so more people can be part of that - however they move, whoever they bring along.
If you’ve never joined us before, this is the day to start. Come dance, have fun, meet our community and help us support Lifeline and the vital work they do for mental health and suicide prevention.
Wear something BLUE. We’ll see you on the dance floor!
