About
Expecting a baby? Our half-day labour and birth antenatal class is designed specifically for LGBTQ+ parents to be. The class coves everything from the stages of labour and pain relief options to birth, postnatal recovery, and the role of non-birth parents.
Our class goes beyond a standard antenatal class. You'll learn the same evidence based content covered in mainstream classes, but through a queer lens that reflects your family — inclusive language, the realities of navigating the healthcare system as an LGBTQ+ parent, and space to connect with other Rainbow Families.
What we'll cover:
• Pregnancy, hormones, and signs of labour
• Pain relief, positions, and decision-making during birth
• Caesarean, induction, and assisted birth
• Postnatal recovery and the first hours with your baby
• Peer support, mental health, and finding affirming care
