About
Comedy House Au presents a night of comedy, bringing you Janelle Koenig LIVE in Bulleen, on Tuesday 27 Oct at 8pm.
Western Australia’s First Lady of Comedy, Janelle Koenig, has spent almost 25 years making people laugh — on stage, on screen, on radio and, increasingly, while they’re supposed to be working.
A powerhouse headliner, writer, director, MC, actor and content creator, Janelle has worked alongside some of the biggest names in Australian and international comedy, including Jimeoin, Alan Davies, Wayne Brady and Joel Creasey. Behind the scenes, she has written and directed extensively for comedy heavyweights including Em Rusciano, Joel Creasey, Jimeoin and Mary Coustas’ beloved Effie.
Blending razor-sharp stand-up with killer(ish) vocals and masterful musical comedy, Janelle was one of a handful of Australian comedians selected for the international edition of NBC’s Last Comic Standing.
She’s also built a fiercely loyal online following of more than 30,000, with her comedy and content clocking up more than 20 million views.
As a writer, Janelle has earned head-writer credits across some of Australia’s biggest broadcasts and events, including Eurovision – Australia Decides (Logie-nominated, 2019), the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade for SBS (AACTA Award for Best Entertainment Program, 2021), Channel 7’s Take Me Out and the Real Housewives of Sydney Reunion for Binge.
When she feels like showing off, Janelle also acts. Her stage credits include leading roles in Priscilla Queen of the Desert, playing to more than 55,000 people at Perth’s Crown Theatre, and We Will Rock You at the Regal Theatre.
Janelle is also the producer and host of the sell-out female comedy gala Let’s Hear It For The Girls, returning in 2026, and is a proud ambassador for the Kids Cancer Support Group.
In short: comedian, writer, MC, actor, singer, producer and professional show-off.
Janelle is proud to call herself a real woman — but she’s keeping the skinny jeans, just in case.
Janelle Koenig to be joined by Tilahun, a SURPRISE special drop-in guest, Beray Uzunbay and Luke Benson.
Venue: Veneto Club, in Bulleen. Strictly 18+ yo event, photo ID for venue entry.
Pre-show early dinner available at the Veneto Club, bookings required. Early dinner, meals to be submitted to kitchen before 6.45pm, to make entry into our Comedy room by before show start, 8pm.
