About

School leaders are navigating unprecedented pressure - from rising mental health challenges and relentless workloads to digital distraction and AI-driven uncertainty. This practical masterclass equips leaders with four essential strategies - wellbeing, time and project management, emotional intelligence, and relational leadership, to create space to lead, strengthen their teams, and move their schools through the crisis with purpose and resilience.

Who is the Target Audience?
Restoring Joy is unlike any other leadership masterclass in Australia. It's a full-day, cross-sectoral learning adventure  designed for leaders from Western Australian Department of Education, Catholic and independent schools.

The audience includes Principals, Executive and Extended Leadership Team members be they Vice Principals, Deputy Principals, Associate Principals, Deans, Heads of Learning Area, Pastoral Leaders and/or Program Coordinators - any person leading others in the complex world of schools.

The masterclass sees professionals from diverse contexts coming together in the same room to support, learn with and from one another!

What is the Day, Date and Time?
The masterclass is scheduled for Friday, 19 February 2026 (Term 1, Week 3) between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm.

What are the Learning Intentions?

  1. Explore the latest research findings relating to the complex and high-octane nature of school leadership.
  2. Consider research-based yet practical frameworks that could be applied to navigate complexity, survive role-rigour and thrive.
  3. Share a key learning.
  4. Ponder the early “seeds” of a micro action, a small but powerful change in leadership thought and/or behaviour, that could be applied to lead beyond crisis.

Where is the Venue?
The masterclass is facilitated in The Auditorium (inside The Leadership Centre) at The Australian Institute of Management, Western Australia (AIM-WA) - the state's premier Leadership and Management training facility.
