Our musical journey travels from 1600, with an aria from the earliest surviving opera, and ends around 400 years later with contemporary takes on consort and folk music. These timeless treasures weave through Bohemia, Spain, Italy, Germany and England, transporting us with music from the sublime and serene to the rhythmic and riotous. It must have been enthralling to hear such imaginative music for the first time, centuries ago. What was once foreign becomes familiar in this musical snapshot of the brilliant baroque.
