Location
Kiama Library
About
After a sold out premier at the Sydney Film Festival in 2024, Kiama Library is proud to present a screening of Life Burns High, an intimate and fascinating biography one of Australia’s most dazzling writers, Charmian Clift, from her childhood in the sunlit world of ocean and freedom in the seaside town of Kiama in the 1920s, through her fabled romance with writer George Johnston, to her too early death at the age of 46.
Featuring interviews with Nadia Wheatley, Thomas Keneally and Jane Caro.
Charmian Clift lived as she wrote; with intelligence, passion and drive, qualities that this documentary vividly brings to the screen.
Stay after the screening for a Q&A with the film‘s writer, producer and director Rachel Lane and co-producer Sue Milliken, in discussion with local historian Sue Eggins.
This is a FREE event, bookings essential.
