Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony

Celebrate a new cricket season and our beautiful home with a Welcome to Country, shared dinner, and community connection for all. All welcome!

Our club is proud to play on Wurundjeri Country. Youlden Parkville Cricket Club (in some form) has played in and around Royal Park since 1875. The grounds on which we now play, have been and continue to be, an important place for the Wurundjeri people.

We are honoured to have a Wurundjeri Elder to perform the Welcome To Country and Smoking Ceremony. Together, we will learn about First Nations peoples' deep connections to Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country. Following the ceremony, we will share a wonderful dinner, celebrate the upcoming season, and enjoy catching up with one another.

All are welcome. If you're new to YPCC, we'd love you to come. If you're returning for another season, it is a great way to reconnect and get to know players, families, and supporters across our senior women's & non-binary, men's, and junior programs.
