Nominations are now open for the Brisbane South Wildcats 2027 Ruby & Emerald Trials.
Our 2027 trial process gives athletes the opportunity to showcase more than just gameplay. Athletes will be assessed across fitness, fundamental skills, movement, coachability, position-specific skills and structured gameplay, giving selectors a well-rounded view of each athlete.
TRIAL INFORMATION
RUBY & EMERALD INITIAL TRIAL
Saturday 24 October 2026 | 8:00am–12:00pm
Beenleigh State High School
All nominated Ruby & Emerald athletes will attend the Saturday trial.
The initial trial will include fitness, fundamental skills, movement and footwork, position-specific activities and structured gameplay.
Athletes will nominate two preferred playing positions and will be provided opportunities across their nominated positions.
RUBY & EMERALD INVITATION TRIAL
Sunday 25 October 2026 | 8:00am–10:00am
Beenleigh State High School
Following Saturday's trial, selected athletes will be invited to return for the Sunday Invitation Trial. Athletes progressing will be advised following the Saturday trial.
Athletes must be available for both Saturday 24 October and Sunday 25 October when nominating.
ELIGIBILITY TO TRIAL
To be eligible to trial for Brisbane South Wildcats in 2027, athletes must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Participated in a Brisbane South Wildcats team in 2026, including State Titles, Emerald, EPL, M-League, Ruby or Sapphire; and/or
- Reside within the Brisbane South Region; and/or
- Have played for one of our affiliated Associations within the last two years: Underwood, Cornubia Park, Logan, Macgregor, Beenleigh or Jimboomba.
Athletes must also meet the relevant age eligibility requirements for the program for which they are being considered.
DON'T MEET THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA?
Brisbane South Wildcats may grant an exemption to an otherwise ineligible athlete at its discretion. If you do not meet the eligibility criteria above and wish to be considered for an exemption, you must complete the 2027 Brisbane South Wildcats Trial Eligibility Exemption Request Form.

Submission of an exemption request does not guarantee approval or eligibility to trial. Applicants will be contacted regarding the outcome of their request.
ADDITIONAL WILDCATS PATHWAYS
Athletes can indicate in their Ruby & Emerald nomination whether they would like to be considered for EPL and/or the Wildcats Academy if they are not selected for Ruby or Emerald.
EPL | 16+ YEARS
Eligible athletes can indicate their interest in being considered for the Wildcats EPL program.
Following Ruby & Emerald selections, identified athletes may be considered for EPL based on age eligibility, positional requirements, player pool and program needs.
WILDCATS ACADEMY | 15–18 YEARS
The Wildcats Academy is our high-performance development program for emerging athletes aged 15–18 years.
The Academy is planned to run from March to June 2027, with a two-hour high-performance training session every fortnight, delivered across our affiliated Associations.
The Academy will focus on:
- High-performance netball training
- Individual and position-specific skill development
- Movement and footwork
- Strength and conditioning and fitness
- Nutrition and recovery
- Athlete education and development
- Preparation for the standards and expectations of a high-performance environment
The Academy provides developing athletes with exposure to the training standards, expectations and environment of the Wildcats performance pathway.
Indicating interest in EPL or Academy does not guarantee selection or a position within either program.
PLAYER COMMITMENT
Selection into a Brisbane South Wildcats program requires a significant commitment from athletes and families.
Athletes accepting a position must be prepared to commit to:
- The financial commitment associated with player fees
- The full Brisbane South Wildcats High Performance Program
- Completion of all required program components
- Weekly team training
- Strength & Conditioning requirements
- Required competitions, team activities and program commitments
- The standards, behaviours and expectations of Brisbane South Wildcats
A Player Contract will be provided to successful athletes outlining KPIs, player expectations and commitments that must be adhered to throughout the season.
Athletes should only nominate if they are prepared to make the required commitment should they accept a position within the Wildcats program.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Trial Nomination Fee: $40
- Each athlete must complete an individual nomination.
- Athletes must nominate two preferred playing positions.
- All nominated athletes attend the Saturday Initial Trial.
- Sunday's Ruby & Emerald trial is invitation only.
- Athletes must be available for both Saturday and Sunday.
- Athletes who do not meet the eligibility criteria must apply for an exemption prior to nominating.
- Submission of a nomination does not guarantee selection into a Brisbane South Wildcats team or program.
- Further trial information will be communicated to athletes prior to the event.
