EcleKtic Collective presents: Session for Cuba
A Sunday evening of DIY punk, riot grrrl, post-punk, synths, zines, art, music, making + collective mischief!
On 18th October, we’re taking over a cosy little space in northside Naarm for an intimate gathering built around creativity, experimentation and community. This is a small capacity event, the first of a series we’ve been planning for a while!
Expect:
🎛️ Live synths + experimental electronic sounds
💿 Vinyl DJs + open decks
📖 Zines + an art market
🎨 Collaborative art, live painting + projections
🥘 Food + warm drinks
🛋️ A cosy space to hang, make things, listen, dance + create
Sonically, we’re drawing from the strange and beautiful crossover between early synthpop, experimental electronica and the post-punk movement; think Kraftwerk, DIY electronics, noisy machines and everything in between.
This is a BYO, non-profit DIY event. Any profits will be directed towards material aid for Cuba, including medical supplies, solar lanterns, school kits and hygiene products, through the National Network of Cuba.
Art and music are not separate from the world around us. We believe events can be spaces for solidarity, mutual aid, experimentation and collective care.
Come make something, alone or with mates. Bring something, dance, sit on the couch, make a collage, meet someone + stay awhile xx
