This exciting open class is a unique opportunity to work with Hugo in an advanced contemporary session, exploring movement in an engaging, creative and connective environment through his distinctive choreographic language and artistic practice.
Open to all dancers aged 14 years+, with class content taught at an advanced/professional level.
Contemporary Artists interested in joining QCD in 2027 may use this session as an audition opportunity for our Full-Time or Part-Time Pre-Professional Contemporary programs.
When registering, please select the ticket type that best reflects whether you intend to audition or are attending the session as a non-audition participant.
If you select an audition ticket, our Admin Team will be in contact following registration with further information, including any additional audition requirements and instructions for the day.

MEET HUGO
Hugo Poulet is a multidisciplinary artist based in Australia. A versatile and distinctive mover, he draws on a broad range of movement practices to expand the language of contemporary dance. He is currently a full-time company artist with Australasian Dance Collective.
Hugo has performed with Stephanie Lake Company in Vista and Auto Cannibal, and with Sydney Dance Company in Ohad Naharin’s Decadance. Other performance credits include Drenched by Caetlyn Watson and The Ring Cycle with Opera Australia. He has collaborated with choreographers including Rafael Bonachela, James Vu Anh Pham, Lucy Guerin, Omer Backley-Astrachan and Gabrielle Nankivell.
As a choreographer, Hugo is an award-winning artist, receiving Best Duet Choreography at FORMS’ Sharp Short Dance Awards and winning DUTI’s 2025 Profound Choreographic Competition. In 2024, he premiered his first full-length work, orbital, at PACT Centre for Emerging Artists. In 2026, he choreographed for Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Year graduating cohort.
Hugo’s practice extends beyond choreography and performance into music and sound. His solo work SIGIL explores the intersection of movement, live sound and his music practice, and has been presented in excerpts at venues including Out of Bounds by Lucy Guerin.
