About
All the way from Klaipėda, Lithuania, guest artists, Kapela Gantunkas & Vėlunga Šokių Sambūris will grace the Melbourne Lithuanian Club stage with a show case of music and dance.
In a show curated exclusively for Australian Lithuanian Days 2026 the Klaipėda based groups will transport the audience to the canals and breakwaters of Lithuania’s stunning port city.
Vėlunga (or weathervane) are visiting Australia for the first time, brining a touring group of 20 performers. And we think it is sweet as honey that they will be joining another Klaipėda based group – musicians, Kapela Gatunkas, as guests from the Mother Country.
The “Vėlunga” group was established in 2020. Its creative credo is the preservation and reconstruction of the cultural heritage of Lithuania Minor.
Joining them will be Kapela Gatunkas. Not only are they Lithuania’s most fun folk ensemble, they are also Lithuanias BEST folk ensemble.
They have graced festivals throughout Lithuania and Europe and bring high energy, harmony and humour.
