Presentation Title: Changes to Contaminant Hydrogeology over Time

Presenter: Dr Tamie Weaver (ERM Pty Ltd)

We will be gathering to hear from Dr. Tamie Weaver who will be looking back on the changes that she has seen in our understanding of contaminant types and behaviour in groundwater, and our communities' responses to groundwater contamination.
Tamie will be retiring this year from part-time work and will continue to sit on one or two mine tailings review boards, so it is a great opportunity to come and wish her well from the IAH community in person.

Dr Tamie Weaver was a Technical Fellow and Partner within ERM based in Melbourne until she went part-time last year and has over 35 years’ experience as a hydrogeologist. She has provided hydrogeological advice and technical leadership in site investigations involving the assessment of aquifer systems, interactions between groundwater and surface water, and the fate and transport of metals, salts, petroleum hydrocarbons, PFAS, chlorinated solvents and radionuclides in groundwater at operating and closed mines, power stations, and industrial facilities.

For over a decade Tamie was a lecturer and senior lecturer at the University of Melbourne, teaching undergraduate, postgraduate and professional short courses in hydrogeology, hydrogeochemistry and conducting groundwater research. She coordinated the Masters hydrogeology program and has supervised over 60 honours and postgraduate students in hydrogeology, hydrogeochemistry and solute transport.
