About

By popular demand, Smiley-Doherty return to Meeniyan Town Hall on Saturday 14 November - and this time they’re bringing even more friends.

After some wonderful gigs over the past year, we’re taking over the Town Hall again for a night of original music, great songs and pure entertainment, with the inimitable Rob Teskey as MC.

Joining Smiley-Doherty are Emerald Bylaw - Tessa Hubble and EJ van Geest with their beautifully spare, close-harmony take on the Gillian Welch/David Rawlings tradition - Albert Mook and friend, and Blue Faced Liars, Pete Doherty and Jon Wade getting down to the blues with sinuous guitar and dazzling keyboards.

Expect a big-hearted night of mostly original music, wandering happily through folk, rock, country and blues — four acts, plenty of musical cross-pollination, and a few surprises along the way.

And because it wouldn’t be a proper Meeniyan Town Hall night without a little extra hoopla, there’ll be raffles, door prizes and assorted opportunities to go home with more than you arrived with.
