Ancient Rome Crafternoon- WEEK 1: ROMAN LIFE + POTTERY

About
Join Poppy, National Young Historian Award winner, for a fun, hands-on morning exploring one of her favourite topics - Ancient Rome!
Each session begins with a short, child-friendly educational component led by Poppy, who is excited to share her passion and knowledge with other curious kids, before moving into plenty of hands-on crafting.
WEEK ONE: ROMAN LIFE & POTTERY
Children will discover what everyday life was like in Ancient Rome, from the homes people lived in and the food they ate to the objects they used in daily life. They’ll also explore Roman pottery, what it was used for, and what archaeologists can learn from the pottery Romans left behind.
Then, it’s time to get creative, working with air-dry clay to make and decorate their own Roman-inspired pots and small vases, as well as creating their own decorative Roman-inspired brooches to take home.
Designed to be fun, creative and educational — perfect for kids who love history, making things, or simply learning something new with friends.
