This weekend workshop is for actor-creators; theatre artists who create and perform their own work. It’s two days of working the poetic and physical body; training the muscles of improvisation (verbal and non verbal); practicing your craft; receiving feedback.
The workshop involves;
- Developing your embodied understanding of crescendo
- Physical and poetic practice of timing, rhythm and duration
- Self generating your material; holding yourself in the work
- Games, exercises & provocations you can take into the devising space
If you're a theatre maker, devisor, improvisor or actor interested in or currently making your own work, this workshop is for you. It is perfect for artists who create solo shows or work in ensembles.
About your facilitator
This workshop is facilitated by Laura Trenerry. Laura completed an Advanced Training in Movement Theatre at the Helikos School of International Theatre Creation with Giovanni Fusetti in 2025. Laura has 14 years experience as an actor-creator, working with ensembles The Travelling Sisters, The Beryls and the show Stickybeak. Laura’s work spans across character, clown, satire and physical comedy.
