Held at the Ballarat Chess Club, Humffray Room, Level 4 of the Ballarat Mechanics Institute.
Tournament Format
- 7-round Swiss tournament
- Teams of 2 players
- 25 minutes per round
- 5-minute flat games
- No new games may be started after the 25-minute round time expires
- Round scoring: Win = 1 point | Draw = ½ point | Loss = 0 points
Teams
Enter as a team of two, or enter individually. You can find your own teammate on the day, or we can match you with another individual entrant.
Teams remain fixed for the entire tournament. Substitutions require the approval of the organisers.
Prizes
Trophies, medals and book vouchers will be awarded across a range of categories, including:

- 🥉 3rd Place Team
- ♟️ Best Junior Team
- 🎯 Best Individual Performance

Exact prizes and categories will be determined and announced closer to the event.
Schedule
Tournament play begins at 10:30am following setup and announcements.
There will be a lunch break after Round 3, with the tournament concluding at 3:00pm.
