About

In this online masterclass we hear from Andrew Patterson MAIPI - Author, Consultant for investigations and ethics and the National President of the AIPI.

With four decades of investigative experience behind him, Andrew brings a wealth of real-world knowledge to the workplace investigations arena. In this session Andrew will draw on that experience to explore the practical realities of conducting workplace investigations and provide participants with insights, techniques and lessons that can be applied immediately. It will be an interactive session with opportunities to ask questions and get involved in the discussion.

Andrew Patterson is a professional investigator with 40 years’ experience working across a wide range of investigative environments and jurisdictions, including workplace disciplinary matters, corruption enquiries and criminal investigations.

Throughout his career, Andrew has conducted investigations and delivered associated training across local government, state and federal government departments, and private-sector organisations. He has run his own investigative consultancy since 2014.

His previous government roles include Detective Sergeant with the WA Police, Chief Investigator with the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), and Specialist Investigator with the NSW Ombudsman. These roles have provided Andrew with extensive hands-on experience dealing with complex, sensitive and often challenging investigations.

This is an opportunity to learn from an investigator who has spent four decades doing the job — investigating misconduct, corruption and complex matters in the real world.
