About
There’s nothing quite like a wood festival. The smell of freshly cut timber, the hum of machinery, the feel of natural grain and the magic of watching skilled hands turn a simple piece of wood into something extraordinary.
For generations, wood shows and woodworking festivals have brought people together to share skills, discover tools, learn from experienced craftspeople and celebrate the art of making. As some of these much-loved events have disappeared, we believe it’s time to bring that spirit back to the Illawarra.
The Bulli Wood Expo is being created to celebrate our region’s rich timber heritage and the people who keep the craft alive. Across a weekend at Bulli Showground, visitors can discover remarkable handmade creations, watch live demonstrations, take part in workshops, explore specialist tools and meet the makers behind the work.
We want to create a festival where experience is shared, new skills are discovered and craftsmanship gets the recognition it deserves. A place where established woodworkers can pass on their knowledge, emerging makers can showcase their talents and visitors can discover a whole new appreciation for working with wood.
We're building something for the woodworking community, with the woodworking community.
Join us on 20–21 February 2027 and be part of bringing a much-loved tradition back to the South Coast.
