DARK & DIRTY CANBERRA COMEDY ROAST!
CANBERRA: NATIONAL TREASURE OR NATIONAL EMBARRASSMENT?
Canberra gave us Summernats, public servants, roundabouts and a giant penis owl. Surely that's enough evidence to convict?
An outrageously filthy night of comedians tearing Canberra and each other to shreds. Northside vs Southside.
Public servants vs people with actual jobs. No sacred cows. No mercy. Probably no refunds. 8 comedians. 2 teams. 1 city.
YOU DECIDE WHO WINS!
Meet your Canberra Roast comedians...
PRO CANBERRA TEAM
Four comedians. Defending the indefensible. Paddy Hornby is a 15-year veteran of Canberra comedy who's spent more time making Canberrans laugh than most public servants have spent doing actual work. Marie Anagnostis is a personal trainer and comedian who knows how to make people sweat, suffer and question their life choices. Sarah Stewart is a British comedian, former midwife of 40 years and Sydney Fringe comedy nominee who's spent decades pulling screaming little bastards out of women — so dealing with Canberra's politicians should be a piece of piss. And Nick Starkey is a Canberra Comedy Festival performer who specialises in finding laughs in life's darkest moments, making him perfectly qualified to defend a city where the nightlife dies before its residents. Together, they'll attempt to convince you that Canberra is more than a freezing, bureaucratic regional town full of roundabouts, overpriced houses, public servants and a giant penis owl.
AGAINST CANBERRA TEAM
Four comedians. Zero mercy. One giant target. Sam Silla is a British-born comedian, RAW Comedy state finalist and Canberra Comedy Festival performer who escaped the UK only to end up in Canberra — proof that immigration doesn't always lead to a better life. Kiri Joyce is the reigning September Dark & Dirty Comedy Competition champion, back to demonstrate that winning one filthy comedy competition is apparently enough qualification to publicly shit on an entire city. Rusty Mitchell is an Albury-Wodonga comedian and 2025 RAW Comedy finalist who's travelled all this way to remind Canberra that even Albury-Wodonga has more personality than the nation's capital — and that's a fucking low bar. And Cameron Ribbons is a Canberra Comedy Festival Gala performer and national Deadly Funny finalist, turning his storytelling skills against his own hometown like a disgruntled employee finally getting access to the company-wide email list. Together, they're coming to tear Canberra apart. Parliament House, Summernats, public servants, roundabouts, miserable winters and that giant fucking penis owl — nothing's off limits. Their mission? Prove Canberra isn't Australia's capital of culture. It's what happens when a country mistakes a fucking roundabout for a personality.
