About

The Mathematics Leaders’ Network positions school-based leaders as the primary drivers of instructional improvement. It builds collective expertise across the system, ensuring that research-informed practice is translated into consistent, high-quality classroom teaching. This approach aligns directly with the Diocesan Strategy 2035 by developing leadership capacity, strengthening system coherence, and improving student learning outcomes in mathematics.
The Network promotes and develops positive mathematical dispositions for all students and teachers, serving as a vehicle for system strategy enactment, translating system-level intent directly into school-level practice. The Network will focus on:
- leading change, instructional coaching, and using data effectively to build collective efficacy.
- developing Leader-Led & Autonomy, driven by authentic leader questions and trials.
- Inquiry-based improvement where leaders test strategies, analyse impact through collaborative cycles of inquiry, and focus on student growth over task completion.
- Evidence-informed practice, translating cognitive science, research and Grattan report insights into daily practice.

Learning Outcomes:
- Become a collaborative sounding board for colleagues.
- Openly discuss what worked, analyse missteps without judgement, and collectively problem solve.
- Co-design and implement a Mathematics Framework to establish consistent evidence-informed teaching, learning, and assessment practices across all schools.

Intended Audience:
- Classroom Teachers
- Primary Mathematics Leaders
