About
Simulation - JumpStart is a one-day introductory course designed for healthcare professionals interested in using simulation as a teaching and learning tool.
Delivered by experienced simulation educators, the course introduces the fundamental principles of simulation-based education, including scenario design, pre-briefing, facilitation and debriefing.
The emphasis is on practical application. Working in small groups with the support of experienced faculty mentors, participants will develop their own simulation scenarios and have the opportunity to put them into practice, taking turns to facilitate, participate in and debrief simulated clinical encounters.
The course also explores how simulation can be delivered effectively using the resources available in your own clinical environment, without necessarily requiring specialist equipment or dedicated simulation facilities.
Whether you're planning to introduce simulation into your workplace or are already involved in simulation delivery, JumpStart provides a practical foundation on which to build your skills and experience as a simulation educator.
