Hari Budha Magar MBE Presentation

Hari served with the British Army and was seriously injured in Afghanistan in 2010 after stepping on an improvised explosive device, resulting in the loss of both legs above the knee. Since his injury, Hari has achieved a series of extraordinary mountaineering accomplishments, including becoming the first double above-knee amputee to summit Mount Everest in 2023.

His story of military service, injury, recovery and achievement provides a powerful opportunity to connect with the Australian Defence community, particularly veterans who served in Afghanistan.
