About
The play details a classic love triangle involving Emma, her husband Robert (a publisher), and Jerry (a literary agent), who is Robert's best friend. The defining characteristic of Betrayal is its reverse-chronological structure. It begins in 1977, two years after the seven-year affair between Emma and Jerry has ended, and moves backward through time to its origin at a party in 1968
