Halloween at Newcastle's Fort Scratchley brings the day alive, with our iconic underground tunnels on display in a way not to be missed. This event is for 'kids' of all ages, and the young at heart. The tunnels do require reasonable mobility because of the stairs, so not suitable for wheel chairs or walkers. Children will need to be accompanied by an adult please.
Come and enjoy our iconic site, but entry to the spooky tunnels is by ticket only. Tickets will give you entry for a 2 hour block (except the last session - 1 hour only, so be early). First session starts at 3:00pm, then each following session starts on the hour until 7:00pm. Yes, you may enter more than once in your session-time using the same ticket. There will be lots to see down there over multiple levels! Numbers in the tunnels at any one time will be limited at each session to maximise your experience. Tunnels will be closed at 8:00pm and site will close soon after.
As well as our tunnels dressed for the occasion, weather permitting, there will be a display of unique vehicles provided by Motley Crew Car Club, a Rotary BBQ, and Daisy Belle Coffee van all on our Parade Ground, as well drinks, icecreams and snacks from our friendly Fort Scratchley Shop. Lots of photo opportunities above and below ground.
All our Fort Scratchley Historical Society team are holders of current Working with Children clearance and this is a safe family friendly environment. This is a no-alcohol event.
Bring the whole family - including Nanna, Pop and the aunties. Dress for the occasion. While some lollies will be supplied as you leave the tunnels, perhaps bring some extras to share.
If you came last year, it's all new and all different and all bigger (as we promised it would be!).
