CONSIDERING NOMINATING FOR COUNCIL 2027 ELECTIONS?
The Australian Local Government Women’s Association SA (ALGWA SA) is running forums 'Women Leading Locally-It’s Time' across South Australia to help women confidently run for local Council 2027 elections.
Nominations open on Tuesday 26 January 2027 and ALGWA SA want to give you the best chance to succeed if you do decide to stand.
Whether you’re curious or ready to run, these sessions provide tools, insights, and connections to get started.
Join us to chat and connect with other women interested in nominating for 2027 council elections and receive a free resource booklet.
Please arrive 30 minutes early ready to start at 6pm.
Session Facilitators are Onkaparinga Mayor, Moira Were AM and ALGWA SA President, Mayor Jill Whittaker OAM.
We will be going through the resource pack. There will be time for questions and answers and networking.
If you have a name-badge, please bring it to wear (we will have sticky labels as well).
Refreshments: Tea/coffee/water and biscuits provided.
Bookings end at 5pm on 5 November 2026.
You can choose to attend the ALGWA SA forum in your own council area or another council area. Online forums are still being organised.
