The Tree of Life

Peoples Playhouse is proud to present The Tree of Life in the July School Holidays.

Deep in the jungle is a tribe of people who exist in harmony with nature.  Kawana, the Queen, rules her tribe peacefully, while teaching her daughter, Princess Konane, about the ways of her people, and the connection to the mystical Tree Of Life.  However, Konane is not content simply to learn; she believes she is ready to be the Queen.  One day an outsider stumbles into the village and collapses.  He is unknown to the tribe, yet Queen Kawana’s reaction reveals that all is not right with the stranger.  This brand new musical, by Drew Lane, is filled with the energy of Africa, Islander and reggae rhythms, all wrapped in a powerful story of friendship, loyalty and life.

Why not make a trip to the theatre a special night?  Enjoy a champagne/beer (soft drink for the younger ones) and some gourmet nibbles after the opening show.  Our Gala Evening on Friday July 5th is a great way to relax after the show with your favourite cast member and friends.  Beer and wine available for purchase at all performances.
