The Helping Children Regulate and Manage Anger workshop provides therapists with a comprehensive overview of emotional regulation and anger in children aged 4-12. It is full of practical ideas for working with preschool and primary school-aged children and includes therapeutic activities that can be used with children and their families. 

In this workshop, you will:

  • Learn about emotional regulation and anger in children aged 4-12 years
  • Learn about understanding what the child and family need in therapy
  • Learn strategies for calming the body
  • Learn how to help children understand and express anger
  • Learn how grown ups can help children regulate
  • Learn cognitive strategies and problem solving 
  • Learn over 20 new creative activities that you can use with children and families
  • Gain 6 hours of active CPD
  • Receive morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and beverages 
  • Receive workshop slides and handouts 

Who is this workshop for:

This workshop is for therapists who work with children and families. This includes psychologists, social workers, counsellors, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other mental health clinicians. It is suitable for both less and more experienced therapists. Therapists who have previously enjoyed our other workshops will enjoy attending this one, too.
 
Participant numbers are limited to 35.

Group discount:

We offer a 10% discount for groups of four or more participants booking in the same transaction. For groups of 4, please choose the group of 4 ticket.  For larger groups, please email us at info@childpsychologyworkshops.com.au and we can create a larger group ticket for you.  Group discount can be used on already reduced early bird rates or the double deal!

Presenters:

Dr Fiona Zandt and Dr Suzanne Barrett are both Clinical Psychologists who work with children, adolescents and families. They have over 40 years combined experience working in a range of settings, including the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne, child and adolescent mental health services, and private practice with children and adolescents with a broad range of psychological problems. Their approach draws heavily on ACT, DBT and CBT, utilising developmentally appropriate playful strategies. They emphasise working with families and have a strong system focus. They are authors of the books, 'Creative Ways to Help Children Manage BIG Feelings', 'Creative Ways to Help Children Manage Anxiety' and 'Creative Ways to Help Children Regulate and Manage Anger' published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers and founders of Creative Child Therapy Workshops. 
 

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Registered participants who are unable to attend and notify us of this in writing prior to 14 days before the workshop may either:

  1. cancel their registration and receive a refund of their payment minus a $25 administration fee per participant;
  2. transfer their registration to another participant (no fee);
  3. transfer their registration to another workshop date (please check our website for the dates that are currently available); or
  4. transfer their registration to an online course of equal value (no fee). 

No refunds will be provided for cancellations made within 14 days of the workshop. Registered participants who cannot attend and notify us of this prior to the workshop but within 14 days of the workshop may either:
(1) transfer their registration to another participant (no fee);
(2) be provided with a 50% discount to a future workshop of equal value (discount code valid for 12 months); or
(3) be provided with a 50% discount to an online course (discount code valid for 12 months, then course access is for six months).
The workshop facilitators reserve the right to reschedule the workshop in the unlikely event of insufficient registrations.

For participants who took advantage of our Sydney Double Deal, the refund amount per participant for one workshop would be $350 inc GST minus the $25 administration fee.  For both workshops, the refund would be $740 inc GST minus $50 administration fee.
