Despite education policy aimed to promote diversity, excellence gaps are evident in many highly industrialised countries. These excellence gaps, however, need not occur and can be addressed through the application of one or more of the various forms of acceleration. This address focuses on the evidence-based practice of acceleration and its power to aid the development of Gifted and talented students.
